Here we will provide some guidelines for Teaching With The Arts:

-Don't Sweat it!

Many teachers are nervous or afraid of teaching The Arts but it can be easily adapted and taught with other subjects, and one does not need to be an expert!

-Do Your Research

Take a look through the example Unit Plan in the Links section. It will help you come up with your own plan. Also look through the links and do some of your own research to come up with your own program.

-Invite Guest Experts

Have a guest who is an expert in one of the Arts to come teach your class. Ask the expert to give you some tips so you may add to your own classroom teaching.

-Making Connections

Ensure your students see the connection between The Art and the academic subject being integrated with. Be sure to stress how the art component has been useful in furthering their understanding of the other subject and vice-versa.

-Request Feedback

Have your students fill out feedback slips on what they thought of the particular lessons and activities. This will help you with future planning.
